Perfecawl
(Preview)
I found an old crow call while cleaning out my grandfather's shop. It is a Maywald Perefecawl. I am having a hard time finding any info on these. I know they were made in the 50's and 60's in Lombard illinois. I am wondering if it is worth anything???

Red Tailed Hawk decoy, with sox
(Preview)
Earlier this week, a couple of Forum comments from M12shooter (use a freshly dead crow in the talons) and Lonestarphil (stretch huge black sox over my home-made decoys) made me think of how to handle getting that first crow to come in to check out the red-tail hawk decoy that I received yesterday from A...

First time out! and just as many as if I would have slept in.
(Preview)
Got all my stuff together and loaded up last night. Woke up nice and early, let the dog out and headed to a close spot that is always good for a crow or two early season in hopes to get my dog a pre-duck season retrieve. Even got back out of bed last night and threw a few grouse loads in my bag as a swatter load to m...

Decoy Setups---Please share your best ones.
(Preview)
Hi fellas. I was wondering what decoy setups work best for everyone. Let's get into detail about this if we can. I think it would be beneficial to all the newbies, and the ol' vets too. How many dekes' does everyone use? Do you set them up in small groups, or spread out? How many do you hang in the trees? Ho...

Damn yellow jackets!
(Preview)
First day of crow season in Virginia. I parked my truck at the bottom of the hill, loaded up my gear and headed to the top just as it was light enough to see. When I got to my small grove of trees I started unloading gear. Put my stool down with head net, gloves and shotgun on it. Put my gear bag a foot away fr...

Hi again boys,Last week select elements of the TCP had the honor of joining Skip Woody on a crow hunt in the Midwest. Between the three of us we traveled in excess of 7200 miles via car and air to make this hunt a reality. As it turned out, Matt took one shot at a pair of crows at almost 500 yards and the resul...

Spent some time with the Texas Crow Patrol
(Preview)
Matt & Gadget Bob came by for a visit today, we spent several hours talking. They wanted to see how my sun sticks work so we went out to the "Meat Wagon" and I showed them how easy they are to setup. They are for keeping the sun out of your face when you are looking south in a north type of breeze...

I was all fired up from joining the Forum yesterday and receiving all the good advice, that I had to go out early this a.m. Went out to listen for turkey and watch for deer at a friend’s farm. As I heard/saw neither, it soon became time to get out the crow gear. This was a tight setup between an overhanging t...

8-21-12 Hunt W Pic

The board seemed a little slow so I thought I'd throw out a pic to my most recent hunt. IMO it was a pretty good one as far as hunting in August goes. I managed 53 (shot one more after pic was taken) by 10:30am when the temps started to rise. I also shot 6 pigeons...Chip would have been proud. The wind was c...

Hey everyone, Only 1 day until crow season starts here in NH!
