Crow limits
(Preview)
The only thing not mentioned in MH's post are the Crow limits for each State. I think California has/had a 24 bird limit per day. I am not certain about that tho. Ohio-- No limit.

Crow populations in WINTER
(Preview)
I have been asking opinions about crow numbers in winter. These migration maps on Crowbusters website answer my questions. There are more crows here in the winter than in the summer. That is exactly what I see from personal experience.

Lowering the volume
(Preview)
Does anyone adjust the volume when the birds are in sight? Last night I had a great day, actually ran out of shells with more than 30 mins of flying time left. As I was cleaning up the mess I made (which is a good thing) I had about 20 birds fly low enough to shoot without any type of call going and me standing in...

First solo hunt of the season for me.

I decided late last night to venture out this morning and shoot one of the orchards one last time this season. I didn't expect to do that well as the two other times we hunted here we killed 78 and 62. The birds on neither trip decoyed well and shooting was tough.I thought this would be a good place to kill a m...

I went "rabbit" hunting over Christmas break with my terrier, Weasel. (Here in Maine, they refer to Snowhoe hares as rabbits, even though they are hares.) I went out one day and she ran several of these hares, but she doesn't bark while on the trail. The problem is that she has so much white o...

My crow hunting buddies and I jokingly refer to sea gulls as "white crows," but this one really is a white crow. Maybe this photo has been posted before, if so, I apologise. A true albino. -- Edited by Mainehunt on Saturday 7th of January 2012 08:14:34 PM

I was at one of our local building and rental stores and saw these. These are used to prevent erosion. They are 8' X 100 and something. A little over 900 square feet. They cost around $44. There is a fine plastic mesh woven on either side. I am thinking this will work well on some of our fields. A few steaks an...
