Hammerin' crow call
Permalink

I have seen on the web site that this call can be adjusted by moving the reed but I can't seem to figure it out unless there were two different kinds and mine does not move. I can't seem to get this thing to sound anything resembling a crow so if it can be adjusted maybe that's all I need. If someone could let me know how to do this before I break it I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I have one and it worked out of the package! Maybe pull out the reed and move it up or down. Still you can't beat a FAULKS C-50!!biggrinbiggrin www.faulks game calls.com!!smilesmilesmile

I have tried pushing at it from the end but not very hard as I don't want to damage anything. I originally bought this call as a turkey locator and wasn't too concerned that it didn't sound much like a crow as long as i got the turkeys to gobble. Now that I'm hunting crows I wouldn't mind making it sound like one. I would love another call but ordering one through crow busters would cost me a fortune as it would have to be shipped to Canada and there's extra charges. The primos seems to be the best call I can find here at the bass pro shop. I need to find a dealer in Canada to get a mincey or faulks but I have yet to find one.

Thanks splash I'll try it in the morning so as not to wake anyone up. Keeping my fingers crossed although I would still like to get a good quality call as I have been going out quite a bit recently and I can justify having it.

I was able to tap the mouthpiece from the end with a piece of wood and a hammer and am now trying to see what works best, but I still can't seem to work it that well. I guess that's what they mean when they say practice makes perfect. I'm thinking Bob's how to CD and crow call package could be coming my way real soon.

I was at Cabellas and bought a Haydel crow call just because it was a Haydel and I didn't think they made them. I was amazed at how good it sounded!!! I think it was only 13 bucks. It does not have the range that my gibson does but it sounds great. You should try onewink

Got myself a Gibson for Christmas... sounds good, but my vocabulary sucks. Probably time for a "Bob" lesson, too.

I wish I had saved my money and gone straight to a Gibson instead of wasting dough on a bunch of cheaper calls. Now all i carry in the field is a pair of Gibsons.

I learned a lot from Bob's CD. Darryl has one, too. Both are great.

Blowing a crow call is the same as blowing a duck call. Its got to come from the belly not the throat.............
