Buddy and I were out on the same location where we had done well earlyer in the week. Both brought a full flat of ammo as many thousands of crows are now using these fields and we were sure of a hundred crow morning.

Sun came up conditions were clear with absolutely no wind. Crows showed up by the thousands as predicted and I must say I shot 100 percent with no missessmile!

Problem being that this time crows were all feeding about a mile over and few ventured our wayno. I killed 10 crows for 10 rounds fired. My pal shot about as many and what we had both anticipated to be a great shoot turned out to be a 20 crow morningevileye

I think we have these crows fighred out and next week will be the "big shoot". Got to get on them ASAP as up here this time of the year crows are here one day, gone the next.

Attatched a pic of my last crow of the morning which I skillfully dropped right into the blindbiggrin

Hi Ted,

What a great time of year to get out. Nice photo of you with your model 12.

I have not snapped a cap on them yet. My count is still at zero.

Been playing a lot of pool (everyday) and my game is getting stronger. Controlling that damn cue ball with the right speed after every shot is easier said than done. But..... I'm getting there little by little.

So when are you done? By mid October?

Bob A.

Very mild up here yet Bob...which is a good thing seeing as things are frozen solid for almosy six months of the year.

Plenty of crops, sunflower, corn, peas, beans still on the land which is a crows smorgasbord. Still, most crows leave here for the south by mid October irregardless of plentiful food and favorable weather.

Within the next week or so I will be switching to a bit of waterfowl hunting as crow numbers will dwindle fast making the effort not worth its while.

Guess your going to have to work on your pool game a bit longer there Bob before you get to start on the crows. But as always that black wave is heading southwardsmile

And yes, what a glorious time of the year it is! Talk with ya later.

Ted

I've seen fields of cut  corn barely touched except by Blackbirds and the like...the crows however would be there when the snow melts so that might be why 'here one day-gone the next" despite the incredibly huge numbers! The old dumps used to anchor them here all winter long but that's all changed...
