Well, I am tired of having to make due with whatever cover is available. I am going to build me some one man blinds.
Here is what I am thinking. I will be using 1/2 in PVC pipe.
The side panels will be 4.5 ft tall and 5 ft long. The front panel will be 2 or 2.5 feet long and 4.5 ft tall. The back panel will be the same height and 3 ft long. I am figuring I will need more room in the back for my seat than in the front. Of course, I will use camo netting on the panels. The side panels of the longer pieces will have a middle support using a t-post for the PVC. I plan on making 3 of these, but will build the first one and try it out first. Most of my shoots involve two shooters. And we like to set up a few yards apart. It really helps on the tag teaming of groups of 3 or more. Sort of creates a cross fire.
What do you think? Will 1/2 inch PVC be strong enough?

As small as possible to get the job done and neck to chin high depending on your stature. Last thing you want is to have birds coming in within nice gun range and spot you before they are in the right position for a shot. Terrible to have a blind too short and be bent in some arthritic stoop all morning. Weight and portabliity is also a strong consideration depending on your hunting style.
I use light weight wood frames that can be covered with burlap and dressed with plenty of local materials if nessisary. Some of my blinds are semi permanent or permanent structures depending, others are meant to be deployed rapidly and taken down with the same haste.
