My pal Dick just sent me an old pamphlet from the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Oklahoma from the late 1970's.

I quote:

" Located 70 miles southwest of Oklahoma City the area annually attracts crows numbering up to 10 million" "the population hits it's peak during December and January, the crows leave by mid March"

This pamphlet has some great black & white photos of what was once the largest crow roost in North America.

Bob,

Hard to grasp that number of crows, not to mention how many shells to buy!

Hi Butch,

It was something to see for sure.

They had hunters from all over the USA desend upon Ft. Cobb back in the day. My partner Dick used to take a months vacation time and spend the month down at Ft. Cobb years ago. He did this every year until the shooting went down hill.
