Starting to get a little push of birds

We have turned the page of the calendar to October and with October comes migrating crows.  We traveled about an hour north today to find most of the corn still standing.  The grass field in front of our blind was nice and low.  Not much color in the trees.  A front moved off to the northeast early in the morning and we caught some small flocks moving north to south shooting 40 birds between us.  We are still a couple of weeks from the big push of migrants.  The fun has begun in NH.

Bob, with a new software program that allows me to change a picture from a jpg to EPS and magnify the image.. I was able to read the text.. It actually says "only number 6 size shot allowed."

LoL that's funny, I believe Pete & 10 gauge might put up a sign like that.

Here is picture of the sign from a hunt a few years ago. It's a nice spot, pleasant surroundings to look at, nobody around and a decent number of crows for these parts. It does however deliver a high percent of tall shots for some reason, I suspect it's the tall tree. The edges of the field have very sharp drop off's to drainage ditches and a river. The edges look good but there is no place for a blind in them. It's a tough place to shoot 60% and a 2 7/8 10ga loaded with 1 1/8 ounce of #6 with a tight choke was great to have. In spite of the longer shots yesterday it was a place that had crows to shoot at whereas back home we don't have too many yet.

That's some good stuff!! Well done!!! We shot a crow last week and it was screaming all the way down.. We determined it was saying " They shoot Kent's, they shoot Kents." We laughed about that for a while..
