My Son and a good friend and I got to hunt together and had a good hunt, as M12 said " It's nice when the planets line up".
They did and a lot fell into place, crows wanted to be where we were, responded to the calls and decoys well and blinds were good. The temps were cool which was a blessing. This orchard was good Huntin last year but bit us this Sept. With a way low bird kill, I made a post about the bear got us back then. Started off with a 6 pt. buck barley missing the Sons Pathfinder rear door but he did hit the trailer, just broke side marker lights and as far as we could tell he wasn't badly injured. Back to the hunt we picked up 138, first time over the century mark. This is an excellent property and I am sure more seasoned crow hunters could have faired way better, but it was a good day for us. Had some good easy shots and about 60% was real sporty. Seems the effort and miles put in to scout are starting to payoff a little and I hope it continues. Landowner came by and was well pleased and we got a lot of help from His 3yr old son removing the dead crows, He had a blast and got in the pic with us .I will post pic later when I get it off my Sons phone.
