Hevi-Shot recall.

Hello.

I figured there are a few waterfowl hunters here...so, I thought I'd pass on a recall warning for Hevi-Shot products (Hevi-Metal and Hevi-Steel; 12 gauge; 3"). I just got a notice in the mail from Bass Pro Shop explaining that certain lots have defective wads that crack when exposed to freezing temperatures. The cracked wads may cause a squib. I just received this notice (March, 3, 2015). The defect was known since November 2014. Good thing I didn't use any of those shells this past season. Guess one should always expect a defective shell, recall notice or not.

STP22: For sure, thank you for this alert!! I promise, NO wads I have will ever be exposed even to the possibility of freezing so I feel I am in the clear from this threat.biggrin

I only shoot heavy 13's when I turkey hunt. I don't guess they are part of the recall. There are crow hunters that are rich enuff to shoot hevi shot at crows. I can't even start to imagine that😳

I hear you, Chip! They are expensive and I could not imagine using them for crow hunting based on their price. I just happened to have like 3-4 boxes to try for geese/ducks.
