Have many of you fellas watched the film clips on the Home Page yet? Gordon Krause put a bunch of them on just this season.

Bob,

I watched the clips a couple of times. Certainly enjoyed the shooting. Made me wish I was there!

Hope your health is AA+

Hi Ken, I'm fine, just got done (yesterday) putting a corrugated steel roof on my patio so I can sit out there when it rains. Cut a dead tree down today and used it for fire wood this fall. Spent the rest of the day just doing spring clean up around the outside of the house. It's 70 degrees out so it was a nice day to get stuff like that done.

You doing ok?

Bob

I have watched them a couple of time also. Great way to hear the calls used, see blind set ups, decoys, and also helps me get an idea on how far out you can get them, though that's a bit harder to tell from the video's

'Morning Bob,

I've put away my crow hunting gear, and, like you, I am now "gearing up" for many chores around the house also. Never an end to house work, inside or out.

I'm doing pretty well. Only had one minor cold this winter...nothing serious.

My best day crow hunting this winter was 82 birds. Not many by your standards, but a very good day in North Carolina.

Have you ever shot crows with Rio ammunition? It is made in Marshall, Texas. I have some that I am going to pattern test this spring. May use Rio next fall if all goes well.

Good to chat with you!

Ken

Ken,

I never used Rio ammo before.

I shoot both the Top Gun or Wally World ammo made by Federal. I also shoot the Remington Gun Club load as well.

Ken, there are days I would be happy with 82 as well!

It is 75 degrees outside today, spring is here.

Years back I used to get decent shooting (crows) up until the third week in March. Very pleasant shooting crows in the spring.

Ken,

Rios are a very popular shell on the sporting clays circuit.  They are good shells and, as mentioned, are made in USA.  The only downsides I have found are:

A) In very cold weather (below 30 degrees or so), you may get a few "pops" instead of "bangs" but they still shoot.

B) If they are stored in a moist area for a long time (several months), you may have more of the "pops" problem.

C) On rare occasions I have had a slight problem with some of the primers set too low which results in a soft strike.  This is mostly the gun vs. shell.

If you get a good price on them, you can't go wrong.

Demi

I watch them often...great laughs...not at you but I never saw anyone shoot crows with commentary before!  that fellow in the woods faces some of the same conditions I have had to contend with in  the north east here or have..not anymore though..,just that I used to do it that way..

I am often amazed at the huge flight in one clip...I was especially surprised this group was in the woods somewhere!
