...so I thought I'd take it upon myself to post some dead crows. Getting out regularly mornings only and getting a bit of shooting. No big numbers as this is not characteristic of spring shooting here but enough to remedy the cabin fever from this past winter. Pics of my blind at sunrise, first crow of the morning that fell right into my hide, some KIA's as they fell and some of the kill.

Although it was only one bird and I have no picture, I got a chuckle out of a situation that happened a couple days ago. While puttering around in the kitchen, I looked out to a pond behind the house and saw a pair of crows having fun (mating) in an oak tree on the other side of the pond. Because this is about 95 yards away, I grabbed my trusty 17 HMR and gave it a shot. One of the two came down nicely which totally interrupted their game!
For awhile the second bird had the strangest calls as he was surveying what had just happened. I couldn't tell if he was complaining that his mate was just taken away from him or bragging about his prowess because he had just screwed his mate to death! When my second shot missed him by an inch or two he finally figured out that he had nothing to do with the situation and took off.

P.S. That takes me to just 16 birds under 1,400 for the season (blind count).
