I cannot imagine that type of crow shooting...around here I see some location with a hundred crows hanging around and it's eye popping!

I grunted the sow up and shot her at about 3 yards. She came in with attitude. I dropped her with a sabot from my 12 gauge. She never took another step.

Had no idea that ya'll had pigs up there. Any idea who released them up there? They dang sure didn't travel up there on their own! LOL

You should try to work out a deal with some of the local BBQ places and barter with them, you supply the meat and they cook some for you for free.

December 2008

December 13th.

Dick & I shot 280 crows in the morning then moved to a spot for a flyway shoot. We shot 263 in the afternoon on a flyway shoot from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wind S-SE 25-35-mph 40 degrees out. We both shot 543 crows for the day. Bob - 264 Dick - 279 I used 338 12 gauge trap loads (# 8's) = 78% average.

December 14th.

Dick & I shot 261 crows from 12:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Wind - S - 15-25 mph 52 degrees out. Flyway shoot. Bob - 127 Dick - 134 I used 165 12 gauge trap loads (8's) = 77% average.

December 17th.

Dick & I shot 198 crows from 12:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind - NW-5-10 mph 28 degrees out. Bob - 97 Dick - 101 I used 141 12 gauge trap loads (8's) = 69% average.

December 18th.

Dick & I shot 159 crows from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind - SE-5 mph 31 degrees out & cloudy. Bob - 80 Dick - 79 I used 105 12 gauge trap loads = 76% average.

December 22nd.

Dick & I shot 348 crows from 12:20 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind - SW-15-20 mph 28 degrees out. Bob - 167 Dick - 181 I used 239 12 gauge trap loads = 70% average.

December 23rd.

Dick & I shot 206 crows from 1:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind - SW-25-30 mph 60 degrees out. Bob - 103 Dick - 103 I used 127 12 gauge trap loads (8's) = 81% average.

December 24th.

Dick & I shot 242 crows from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Morning field hunt, Wind - NW - 5-10 mph Bob - 120 Dick - 122 I used 155 12 gauge trap loads = 77% average.

December 25th.

Dick & I shot 194 crows from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind - SW-15-25 mph 58 degrees out. Bob - 88 Dick - 106 I used 112 12 gauge trap loads =78% average.

December 26th.

Dick & I shot 155 crows from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind SW-10-20 mph. Bob - 72 Dick - 83 I used 107 12 gauge trap loads = 67% average.

December 29th.

Dick & I shot 442 crows from 9:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Wind - SW-10-20 mph Field hunt. Bob - 220 Dick - 222 I used 262 12 gauge trap loads = 84% average.

Dick & I shot 311 crows from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wind - NW-5-10 mph 44 degrees out. Flyway shoot. Bob - 164 Dick - 147 I used 200 trap loads (#8's) = 82% average.

January 7th.

Dick & I shot 353 crows from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Field hunt, Wind - SW-5-10 mph 64 degrees out. Bob - 179 Dick - 174 I used 226 trap loads (# 8's) = 79% average.

January 8th.

Dick & I shot 230 crows from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on a field hunt. Wind - NE-5-10 mph. 66 degrees out. Bob - 116 Dick - 114 I used 140 trap loads = 82% average.

January 9th.

Dick & I shot 361 crows from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on a field hunt, Wind - SW-10-20 mph. 75 degrees out & clear. Bob - 190 Dick - 171 I used 249 12 gauge trap loads = 76% average.

January 10th.

Dick & I shot 135 crows from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind - NW-15-20 mph 34 degrees out & clear. Bob - 64 Dick - 71 I used 95 12 gauge trap loads = 67% average.

January 12th.

Dick & I shot 94 crows from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flyway shoot. Wind - N-15-25 mph 50 degrees out & clear. Bob - 45 Dick - 49 I used 60 12 gauge trap loads = 75% average.

January 14th.

Dick & I shot 136 crows from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flyway shoot, Wind - NE-5-10 mph. 68 degrees out & clear. Bob - 67 Dick - 69 I used 85 12 gauge trap loads = 78% average.

January 15th.

Dick & I shot 75 crows from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Flyway shoot. Wind - S-10 mph 30 degrees out. Bob - 38 Dick - 37 I used 53 12 gauge trap loads = 71% average.

January 16th.

Dick & I shot 349 crows from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on a field hunt, Wind - SW-10 mph 50 degrees out. Bob - 169 Dick - 180 I used 205 12 gauge trap loads = 82% average.

January 18th.

Dick & I shot 279 crows from 2:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Flyway shoot. Wind - NW-10-20 mph 43 degrees out. Soft shooting this afternoon! Bob - 135 Dick - 144 I used 155 12 gauge trap loads = 87% average.

January 19th.

Dick & I shot 259 crows from 11:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Flyway shoot Wind - NW-25 mph steady wind, 69 degrees out. Bob - 121 Dick - 138 I used 175 12 gauge trap loads = 69% average.

January 20th.

Dick & I shot 196 crows from 1:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Flyway shoot. Wind - NW-5-15 mph 42 degrees out. Bob - 93 Dick - 103 I used 116 12 gauge trap loads = 80% average.

Dick & I shot 140 crows on a flyway shoot from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wind - S-SE-10 mph 64 degrees out. Bob - 70 Dick - 70 I used 92 trap loads = 76% average.

February 8th.

Dick & I shot 70 crows on an afternoon flyway shoot from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wind - S-SE-30 mph. 58 degrees out & cloudy. Bob - 37 Dick - 33 I used 60 trap loads = 61% average.

February 10th.

Dick & I shot 86 crows on a flyway shoot from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wind - S-20 mph 71 degrees out. Bob - 43 Dick - 43 I used 60 trap loads = 71% average.

February 11th.

Dick & I shot 277 crows on a field hunt from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wind - NW-10-20 mph. 62 degrees out & clear. Bob - 137 Dick - 140 I used 167 12 gauge trap loads = 82% average.

February 12th.

Dick & I shot 91 crows on a flyway shoot from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wind - S-10-20 mph. 67 degrees out & clear. Bob - 47 Dick - 44 I used 61 trap loads = 77% average.

February 20th.

Dick & I shot 101 crows on a morning flyway shoot from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wind - SW-5 mph 16 degrees out. Bob - 53 Dick - 48 I used 83 trap loads = 64% average.

November of 2010

November 10th.

I shot 77 in the morning and then 141 in the afternoon on a flyway shoot from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. I shot a total of 218 crows for the day. Wind - W-20 mph. I used 292 trap loads = 74% average.

November 16th.

I shot 375 crows on an all day field hunt. Wind - NW-10-20 mph 51 degrees out & clear. 8:30 a.m. to 5:05 p.m. I used 498 12 gauge trap loads = 75% average.

November 17th.

I shot 568 in the morning on a field hunt up to 1:30 p.m. Then made a move and set up for a flyway shoot from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. I shot an additional 143 that afternoon, 711 crows total for the day. Wind - SW-10-20 mph 55 degrees out. I used 895 12 gauge trap loads = 79% average.

November 19th.

Best hunt of my life so far!

I shot 834 crows from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Field hunt, Wind - SW-5-10 mph. I used 1150 12 gauge trap loads ( 7 1/2 shot) = 73% average.

November 21st.

I shot 152 crows with 8 boxes of trap loads in the morning. 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Flyway shoot. Then set up that afternoon from 4:30 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. and shot an additional 121 crows with 150 12 gauge trap loads. Total for the day was 273 crows with 350 12 gauge trap loads (7 1/2 shot) = 78% average.

The mornings are starting to get a little cool now, before you know it the migration will start to head south in another five weeks. I love the fall, it is such a welcome relief from the summer heat.
