NH Migration & Record Day

10gacrowshooter and I were out today from dawn until after 4PM.  We were treated to a very large migration of crows coming out of the north.  The day was perfect, blue sky, bright sun light wind.  We saw thousands of crows, many at high altitude, usually in large balls or long strings with some quiet intervals in between lasting about 45 minutes at the longest.  We took down 154 crows between us with our Parker double guns today, our best total shooting together to date.  Only our third time together breaking the century mark.  We hunting two locations near each other shifting as the sun pushed us out of the first blind.  It was a great day to be a crow shooter in New Hampshire today!

Morning blind is visible on the right of the first photo.

This is our second location in the pictures below, we got lucky and had two dead ones get stuck high in a tree to the right of our blind and they were great decoys.

Enjoyed the report and the photos. Great day to be out!

Also beautiful here in SW MI. Went turkey hunting but saw none. Did see many more than the usual local crow #s (of course) moving  in large groups of a dozen or so. Also saw a nice 8-point buck (of course) with gun deer season 2+ weeks out. Still a fine day.

Keep up the good works!

Hey Pete,

Great post and great hunt.

...also, thanks for the painful reminder that MI crow season is not open in October.

Your pictures are quite beautiful. The colors in my home area are also quite beautiful.

You better get'em while you got 'em. Keep it up.

Thanks BH, sorry about your season being closed in Oct, you get robbed of some great shooting.  Our fall foliage is/has been about 10 days behind normal this year.  Here is a nice looking Oak by a small cemetery that was to the left and behind our morning location.  At one time there was Oak at each corner of the cemetery but now only one survives and it's a big one.

nhcrowshooter,

Congrats on the hunt! I do like the way y'all hunt with the Parker's, nothing like using a Classic with great history hunting. Plus making some history yourself. Pics were outstanding. Hope you break this record soon.

Glad you had a day that you will not soon forget. It's a nice feeling when things go right.

Yes I agree because as we all know that doesn't always happen.  Bob why did you create a new profile on this website?  I initially thought someone was impersonating you.
