Anybody have a New Model Dillon top end loader or another brand they use, if so need opinions on the good ,bad and ugly  of them. Currently use a Pacific 266 that was my Dads and it's 40 plus yrs old but still going strong, but looking to upgrade and leave the Boy's something when I'm gone that will last.

I just bought a brand new Dillon RL 550B to crank out some" in case society goes to crap ammo" for  the AR's 45ACP and the 9MM...love the Dillon stuff!! The Dillon shot loader looks like a great machine...But that said I still have my 53 year old Rockchucker and my 48 year old MEC 650 in 12 ga and one set up in 20 gage... They still crank out any and all of my shotgun shells needed...If the Pacific is working for you why switch? Save the money for your components...

I personally load with an older Mec progressive machine. No complaints. It is a workhorse.

If I was in the market for a new machine I would be looking at a Mec 9000G with a hydraulic foot pedal. Now that unit is a real Cadillac. My uncle has that set up and I enjoy working over there.

I will add some context to my comments...
I have used quite a few various Mec machines but have never loaded a single shell with another brands unit. So, ignorance is bliss with my Mec review.

3 shooters now so its time to step up to save time, but I don't want to buy a headache that is always in need of adjusting to make it run. Have read and heard good things on Dillons, but don't know anyone with seat time on one. Want one that will last like what you, BH and myself are using now. Remember it's hunting related so to the Wife I'm "investing" (lol) in future savings.

Looking at the Mec also and have also heard good things, haven't heard of the Hydraulic's. Will have to check it out. May be way out of my "Investment " strategy though. (lol). I'm the same with the Pacific it's all I know and have used.

Have you checked out any reviews on youtube?? That's my go to source when comparing different products.. Good luck and have fun!! As I said I love my Dillon press it is a master of design and functionality.. and they back up their products... But I also am still a loyal RCBS, MEC, LEE, Redding, Hornady, Forster,and Lyman fan, as I have 45 years of reloading stuff!! LOL!!! Just punch up any manufacturer and its press and you should find a bunch of vids with reviews, if you have not already...

That's all I've seen on the loaders is on YouTube, I know a couple using the Dillons on pistol ammo and they have high remarks on ease of use, customer service,etc. On the shot shell loader heard a few things negative , and that the Mec was easier to run. Got till April to decide and thanks for your input.

Checked the video out of the Mec and see why you like it, got some time to maybe see them and do some hands on before "investing"

I gonna have to recommend Ponsness Warren or Spolar if you are looking for top end. I think my P&W will be reloading trap loads for my grandchildren years from now.
