Crow calling series?

Do u guys continuously call with the foxpros and hand calls?  Or call 5-10 minutes then a break for 5-10 minutes and start over?  What calls?  Come here call, then excited crow, hawk/crow fight, excited crow, dying crow?????

I have a few crows come to the excited crow call for a couple of shots and then I can get a few more with a crow fight.  Then it's over!!  I hear some crows around but they will NOT come in!  Any info is appreciated, THANKS!

Sounds like it is not you, its them.

In many areas of the country the scenario you describe is all you will get. After the shot, you will generally have to wait for new birds to move thru before getting more action. Continuing to call at hunted birds is generally fruitless.

Sounds to me those crows of yours have been through it before to a greater or lesser degree....I would try setting out as many crows as possible in the trees and only answer when they call...if you are shooting crows in an area popular to shoot crows in then you got to be different. Seems to me everyone uses the same old tricks. I have found when you look more real then you get more shooting where previously you otherwise wouldn't...

Sounds like there are limited crows in the area and you are trying to call in the same ones multiple times. You're going to have to look for roosts and flyways if you want more action.

I will usually start calling and let that run for 15 minutes or so. That's usually when my first birds will show up. I take my first shot and foxbang goes straight to crow distress. While they are all circling and going nuts I will take as many shots as I can before they finally decide to leave. I will mute the caller and wait a few minutes in case one decided to join the party late. After that I clean up the set of dead birds and start all over. I will usually wait about 15-20 minutes before starting the next calling sequence. For my soft calling I usually run crows, crow party or crow gathering. If one doesn't work then usually I can find one to do the trick. Some days they just seem to respond better to different calls.

Where I hunt there aren't any communal roost or flyways so we hunt small groups 1-20 birds. I have experimented with different setups. Continuous Crow Fight until bird come in works about as good as talking back to them "Usually crows or crows 2 in response to the live birds." I use a foxpro Krakatoa 2 and use dying crow on the foxbang. Sometimes after the first flyoff birds can be called back 5 -10 mins later. As far as birds hanging up in surrounding trees and squawking sometimes crow+rabbit will sweet talk them off the branch. If I'm not in a rush I enjoy trying to sound like a live animal but I cant say it calls in more birds than the continuous crow fight.

Lots of times while calling coyotes with distress calls crows will come in to see whats up.

I think you got it right.....what you are doing....you are shooting at whatever is available and scoriung...not every place has hundreds or thousands of birds...so you seem to be doing great.
