I do agree with the overall stance of the video: a good blind is much more important than wearing camo.

As usual, you're right. It took me four years of this business, evolving from simply standing under a tree at the beginning, to the two-piece shaggy/leafy turkey suit, to constructing a really good blind andstaying hidden/still until the birds commit. The difference in results this year since using the really brushed up camouflaged blinds and the hide technique has been enormous (also a bit of practice with some clays didn't hurt...). More work and more stuff to haul, but it has paid off. Bob's photos of his brushed up blind in the middle of a flat moon-scaped plain, surrounded by dead bandits comes to mind.
Also, Island Shooter, thanks for the fun video. Despite the clowning around, the point was well-made.

That mankini, guess that what you call it was some funny stuff. I agree about the blinds but our style it helps to match the blind with our camo. I use Army green woodland early and change as the vegetation dies. On our shoots we have to wear Camo headnets, face shine flares a lot of crows here so we have to use them a lot. Any way good post and funny video.
I think came is overrated. More of a "fashion" statement of sorts these days. I wear neutral colours that match the surroundings. More important to have decent cover and be situated in the shade if at all possible. A hat too I fell is important as this eliminates glare from the forehead. Below my extent of cammo...
Here is more proof that a good blind is more important than wearing camo.
I went with the wider strap mankini for extra warmth (not to mention extra support). I wouldnt want to freeze my nipples off ya know.

Hahahaha, that's an FB friend of mine (Mark Gilchrist) and he's a famous game chef (cook in US parlour) here in the UK when he's not shooting.

Here we mostly use camo nets and ground stakes adding natural foliage to the outside.
Lately these "pop up" hides have proven a gods no in speed of setup.
I used one once in the middle of a ploughed field, just popping up to shoot, then sitting back down to reload, and they were actually landing on the hide while I was in it.
The key to good success on crow and pigeon shooting is movement. Avoid it at all costs, and when you move up to shoot do it slowly. Fast movement and they will flare away. They have extremely good eyesight, but will often ignore a human if he stays still or moves very slowly, instead they are scanning for quick movement

Big Honkers has a girl friend who wears about as much when she hunts too....anyways notice he isn't carrying a gun. What happened was all those dead crows saw him with nothing on and dropped dead from the shock!
