This is a something I recorded with my phone. I am sure it could be improved with some editing with Audacity or a similar program. What do you think of it? I call it Angry Bird.
nhc: I like that! It sounds authentic. I would not call it an angry call, at least to my ear, but rather a mild distress sound particularly from a young crow. I would be inclined to use this sound when birds are in relatively close range possibly with dead ones on the ground. I would say it sounds like an irritated crow vs. a distress sound. BUT... either way it should be effective. Just my 2-cents.

It sounds like a crow in the clutches of a hawk or owl attempting to eat it; and those in the know know that a bird of prey will chow down as soon as it can irrespective of a live crow....but a crow who can will fight to the bitter end.
