First crowhunt of this year in Belgium
Permalink

Hi guys

Yesterday, me and my buddy went to our hunting field where we wanted to shoot some crows.  We saw some of them, I could lure some of them close enough, but I must admit that we aren't the best shots biggrin  We saw a few crows, not very much, and I was able to shoot one, and we missed 3 others...  Well, actually 2 because the third one, we didn't see him comming, and when we saw him, it was too late.  So he flew away pointing his middle finger at us wink

Anyway, we had a nice morning, and saw lots of hares and huns, so that was good enough for us!!

Greetings
Michaël

PS: Can you find my friend in our blind? aww

things only get better as you become familiar with their habits or whatever habits your area produces. Watching them is part of it-in fact 50% in my views

Just getting out is half of the fun. You will get them next time I am sure.

Michaël,

Welcome to the forum. A nice blind setup and some very nice decoys. Keep trying and the totals will increase.

What crop are you set up on? Were the crows feeding on it prior to your hunt? Food is the key for big numbers. Find where they are feeding and the rest becomes much easier.

Good hunting,

Demi

Hi Demi

Thanks!  I love this forum, I've already learned a lot here, as a novice crow hunter, I really know some good stuff by now!

At the moment, there aren't any crops left in the field.  This was frozen fertilizer, it will be ploughed under in a few weeks, to fertilize the ground.  But they do sit a lot on those fields, so that's why I tried that one.  The crows, I adapted them myself. I saw a little movie on youtube (link shown at the bottom) and I made them exactly the same, I must admit that the result is really great!

I made mine all the same as the second movie explains (but look at the first one, to see how it is done).

Have fun!!!

Michaël

Stuka, the two decoy videos are great! Makes me want to modify my motionless decoys.
