Was able to slide out this morning and shoot. I had found a place along the C&D Canal that had the potential to be a good spot. The nasty boogers were crossing the canal along a high line from south(farm land) to north(dairy farm). Only thing was the high line was in DE about 400 yrds from me legally trying them in MD. Conditions were windy (blowing West to East) as I set up looking East into DE, 50 yrds from the state line. Figured the nasty boogers would come from that direction like when I scouted. Wrong! From behind they came and as they went to circle the wagons, they were motionless in mid air. Not the numbers like when I scouted, but enough. Downed 3 nasty boogers.

I've always used a single barrel. Was brought up with the notion that you should hit what you're shooting at the first shot. The H&R model 1908 in the picture I use now, was given to me by a close friend before he passed away. Best I have been able to find out is that it was made before 1920. Six number serial number starting with 2. The full choke "Long Tom" has a 30" bbl and loves loads under 1200 fps. I load shells just over 1100 fps for it. My single bbl became unsafe so I started using the H&R and every time I take it out, I make history with it and a lot of memories too. Thanks for asking.
