Distortion-free auxiliary speakers

Being fundamentally frugal ("cheap") and enjoying tinkering, a couple of years ago I decided I needed more sound power. My solution was to power up my FoxPro Spitfire, using an inexpensive amplifier powered by a 7ah battery, and two auxiliary speakers. I have refined this system to the point where it really works well (with a new amplifier--the first one was pretty much junk), but only up to a point.

At Spitfire remote volume-level 1-3, the aux. speakers work fine with minimal distortion. On Spitfire remote "4" or "5" volume level they distort so badly that they emit nothing but junk noise. So, not being an audio expert (ha!), I am wondering if any of you out there have found an auxiliary speaker that can take a real 100W with no distortion. Yes, I know FoxPro makes wonderful systems and I agree. I am, however too cheap frugal to enter into FoxPro's upper price range and besides, I like my Spitfire and enjoy tinkering.

Any recommendations? Price range $20 - $50 each?

Thanks!

(Photo is of the current $20 (each) speakers. Don't worry, the crow in front of the right one is already deaf...)
