Very nice, how many shells came with it?  Not sure of the age but guessing 1930's to early 1960's.  500 shells that is a true "case",

250 shells was a "flat".

Wonderful old case lot, many did not make it, they were chopped up and used for kindling wood.

Those old wooden shell boxes are wonderful additions to a den or gunroom. I have a couple from the 1950's...Canadian ammo makers though...picked up a few at gunshows, etc as well. Ounce a eighth of good old chilled 5's...favorite shot size for mallards back in the day. Thanks for sharing this nostalgia Mainehunt.

A "500" is printed on each end just under the groove that is the handle. I never noticed the number until you asked.

Mainehunt,

That'd look nice in your living room. Thanks for sharing the pics.
