Farm auction & crow supplys...

I went to a local farm auction and less than $20 got what i was wanting for next season. A 25 foot hot stick for setting a sentry !!!  thank you old artilleryman for the idea.  and for $1.50 i got some lightweight framework that with a little cutting / welding should make a nice portable blind !  so like i said earlier, season is over here in Oklahoma but i'm always looking !   Oh, and with the hotstick came an aluminum painters pole 8 foot long for a little extra length if needed. some camo paint & rig a sentry to the top & should be good to go.      Love them farm auctions !

Camo,

Looks nice! Are you planning to put a plywood floor in that blind?

not sure yet, one thing i dont want to do is make it to heavy to handle easly. i may use some light fencing across the front and sides to hold grass and branches in for the final touch at location , no palmetto's around here . lol. good thing is that it cant weigh but 10 pounds or so as it is. i'd like to keep it easy to throw in the bed of the truck by myself & take to locations. to be continued...

Glad you found one! Keep up the tinkering and equipment tuning. That's part of the fun!

i got the blind completed, added some width to it so two can fit & used some landscape stakes to tip the top back in for extra cover. a thin plywood floor like Demi suggested and added some camo i had laying around. weighs less than 50 pounds & the best part is that other than my time i have less than $5 into it !!  once in place i will use the local grasses / branches. ect.  for the final camo touch. the fencing should hold that stuff quite well.   i don't see myself carrying this out to a hunt but one guy can get it in the back of the truck easily enough. could save a lot of time.    I'll use it for a ground blind while deer hunting also.

Yeah, there’s nothing like a deadline to get you motivated! Just today I got two new Cabela’s catalogs highlighting several brands & models of electronic and hand calls. Although the hand calls were for duck & goose, it got me wired up to start shooting crows again! I just finished my mid-summer maintenance recharging of my Foxpro batteries.

Camo, your work looks good! Looking forward to seeing your reports and photos of the resulting carnage!
