Who on here crow hunts with a 20ga on a regular basis. I know Shane shoots one, but who else, and what do you think of them as far crow killing goes. I killed some last year with my wifes 20ga Win. pump. What I would like is a light weight semi auto, be it 12 or 20ga. And at a reasonable price also.

I shot a 20 gauge almost all the time between 1975 to around 2001. The only time I shot factory loads was when my reloads were wearing out and I needed new hulls. I just used a 7/8th ounce of either 8's or 9's out of the 20 gauge.
As far as crow killing goes, there was quite a bit with the 20 gauge. In those years I shot very close to 100,000 crows with the 20 gauge alone from 1975 to 2001. As a matter of fact I killed my 100,000th crow with a 20 gauge in the dvd "The Art of Crow Hunting"
If your shots are 40 yards and under for the most part, a 20 gauge will serve you very well.

Hey All I went out on friday eve to scout for geese (its the early season here) at one of my secret spots. I called in 6 crows with hands calls and got four with the 20 gage. We went to the same spot spot saturday morning set up for geese, what a mistake!! All morning long crows were working through the area, one, twos and threes,we dusted a few that flew over to check the dekes out (with expension steel) Finally I told Bob,I am going to run to the house and get my dekes and some crow ammo. We got a few more but they stopped coming in as morning wore on. I was using my Benelli M-2 12 gage (a shot gun I love and and have killed tons of crows with) and I have to say I like shootin crows with my 20 gage more!!!

I used to hunt with a partner who was deadly with his twenty gauge-I was absolutely amazed! He was a one shot one kill type. Never seemed to miss. he used his duck loads which were # 4s if I recall correctly before the Feds made steel shot mandatory and he was a big duck hunter.....
