The full migration gets underway by late September. There is still plenty of food in late September, it's instinct for the crows. The very early migrants are leaving now, but the greater bulk of them will pull out within the next 10 days to two weeks.

Kill 'em while you can sir, they are headed my way. LOL. Anything that makes it past Wingmaster and the crow butcherwill be warmly welcomed by the TCP, Yote 57 & myself.
Hi Bob,
Do the migrants typically roost in the same areas or does it depend on the availability of the food?
In most cases the crows will roost in the same areas year after year solong as they are not disturbed in the roost.
Now to the second part of your question, if the crows have to venture out more than 30 miles to find good feed then the roost will move closer to the feed. In some states where there is plenty of trees I've seen roosts split when the feed gets scarse and you have half the birds to work on. Then you have to learn there habits all over again because once the roost moves all the flyways change as well!
