I have an older Garmin Legend (non colour). I use it and like it very much. Good for finding your spot in the dark. Also if I am hunting new territory, I mark the car so I can get back to it. I have a list of my favourite hunting spots and their gps co-ordinates so if my wife has to call and have someone (like police) look for me at least they have a good starting point. If I change locations I text her with the new co-ordinates as to where I am. All of this is called ... insurance. What unit to get? Don't know. I like my Garmin. I also have a garmin "street pilot" type of gps in the car. Great for getting directions to places I have not been before. My son-in-law favours Magellan. Sorry I can't help you more than that!
