I have an old 12 Gauge M12 with a 26 inch barrel and a Poly Choke. Never much cared for the beer can on the end of the barrel thig but being able to change choke constrictions fom Xfull to cyl. at the twist of the wrist is great. They reduce recoil a bit but have a good muzzle blast to bystanders. Poly Choke is steel shot compatable as well.

Thanx M12, it isn't pretty onthe end of the gun but I'm hoping being able to change constriction without changing tubes will overcome the unsightly appearance

I have a Stevens Model 58 bolt action 12 Ga. It has a 2 shot clip. On the muzzle is a Savage Adjustable Choke. Full to Cylinder. The first thing I ever shot with a shotgun was a rabbit with this gun. I could'nt tell you what the choke was set on.
Who's up for some bolt action crow hunting. Gunna need a lot of clips.
Finally got time to test pattern polychoke, it works great! Now I can change constriction with no wrench. Patterns are equal to my choke tubes and it goes from extra-full to spreader which is slightly more than cylinder.

I have had a P2 on my mossberg 835 for years...I love mine...so quick and versatile if your hunting multispecies in one day...I start a crow stand off with cottontail squeals with full choke n buck shot...switch right over to 7 1/2 shot and modified...works great...I am getting one for my M2000 also !
I really like it for crows...if they r coming in close I open er up...if its windy or they are spooky and stayin higher I choke it down, and it only takes seconds.
I have a PolyII and have done some patterning with factory steel loads. I can send you a link to results if you'd like. I have not patterned much lead. I rarely shoot more than a few boxes of the exact same load at a time so there is not much reason to pattern it, as yet.
I only shoot lead through mine, and I use a Patternmaster for steel loads. From what I've seen so far the patterns are as good as choke tubes, but goes from spreader choke to extra full choke with the twist of a wrist. So far I like it, I like it alot!
