Many of you will recognize this name as a retailer of fine gun cleaning rods and chemicals for both rifle and pistol located in Tellford, Pa. I have used their products for the past several years and they are excellent but there are many other fine products available today and I have probably used most of them at one time or other. My purpose here, however, is to discuss their attitude towards service. I have two examples to report.
About 6 months ago, I got a brass/bronze brush stuck in the chamber of one of my varmint rifles. It would not come out pushing or pulling from either end. I called Bore Tech with the hopes they had some advice/suggestions. They did. In the mail a week later, I got a special batch of copper solvent to help disolve the brush. They told me their chemists had "mixed" this elixer (it was not a product they sell ) to hasten removal of the brush. Over the next several days... they actually CALLED me 3 times...to see what kind of progress I had had. This was, at least to me, a very nice touch.. and service that I appreciated.
Secondly, 3 months ago, I ordered a 36" cleaning rod for a new 20 caliber varmint rifle. No problem, it arrived a few days later. One month ago, however, I bought a new bore guide..a Lucas Bore Guide to be exact...and found that guide was 3" longer than the guide I had been using instantly making my new 36" rod about 3" too short. Uggh.
I emailed Bore Tech asking If they made a rod extension...and If so, I needed 3 inches please. Their response was "no, we don't as that would produce a weakened section in the rod..etc." BUT then asked IF I had damaged my rod in any way and added that if I had not, that I could return that rod, less jag, and they would TRADE it for a new one at a cost of $10 plus shipping. If you know what a new rod costs, this was a big savings for me and an accomodation/service I was not expecting. I UPS'd my rod to them last week, it arrived Bore Tech last Tuesday, and my new rod was delivered TWO days later. Now THAT.. is service!
There is nothing better than good customer service to build clients. Some companys get that and excell at it and sadly others fail to embrace that concept and their loyal customers are the ones that get slighted. Nice to hear an english speaking voice on the phone when you call for starters, and if they help it makes you reccommend them to fellow shooters.

Customer service IMO is first class in the United States. I'm a Canadian and up here once your credit card has bee swiped your on your own...that is if you can actually find what your looking for. Dealing Americans is a pleasure as one really feels like a valued customer.

Nice to hear about Bore Tech's excellent service.... A few other's that have done right by us include FoxPro, Dillon Precision, Pro Ears, Edge by Expedite, MEC, Browning, and RCBS. For shotgun service - AnglePort and SRM Performance (Sure Cycle) are first rate, too.
I think we are blessed with many in the shooting/hunting industry that clearly place a premium on customer service.
