Since the first Shotgun deer season is finally over I can get back to private land We killed 70 birds on Saturday and 73 on sunday. No hunters will bother us here for miles These pics are uneventful since the mud was deep and I was too tired to gather the casualties. I have found another load that is cheaper and patterns better thru my jellyhead for the tall shots. The young guy is my nephew that got his first double, he is a rookie crow shooter but can shoot very well, (Damn them young virgin eyes)!! We had the wind and sun to our backs. My Brother in law is sitting behind some buck brush and I had gotten behind a limb. That was all we needed since our camo matched the surroundings perfectly Get in the shade and BE STILL That was the ticket for the day!!! My new load is the ESTATE # 6 3 1/4 dram 1 1/8 ounce load. The tall birds poof instead of flutter down. The game wardens know my truck now and dont even stop. On the second time I talked to one game warden, he got on his radio and ask another one if he had ran in to me before, The other guy said yea thats the PROFESSIONAL CROW HUNTER hes good to go Daddy liked that, hell I felt like Bob A for about 3 seconds LOL!!!! The last pic is of my good o'l Model 42 that I shot pigeons with back in the summer its such a sweet gun I had to put it on the site again 2 1/2 #6 shot now that is hard to do!!!

I am Brad, Chip's nephew in the above picture. This was my first crow hunting experience, and I am already hooked. What a great time! I am hearing "crow fight" in my head before I go to sleep at night. Things I learned that I never knew.... crows are amazing acrobats... as soon as you pull on em, they are banking hard, like fighter jets. I also learned that they cannot resist the call. I could not believe how they were drawn to it, from miles away...wow. I learned that by default, the youngest guy gets to pull the decoys and equipment around.. And I certainly need to practice shooting crows. Although in my defense, there is some pressure when shooting around Chip. If any of you know him personally, you know what I am talking about. He doesn't miss, and he shoots with a turkey choke (might as well shoot a foster slug). I hit maybe 5 out of 10 and shoot a modified. Makes a guy feel great!
