How do you get all your gear out to the blind?

By the time we carry decoys, e-caller, guns, a case of ammo, lights and pole to hang decoys, we are tired and out of breath. Anyone have a cart of some sort that works for you?

2 backpacks, decoy bag with ecaller in it & slings on the guns. I thought at first it was less equipment intensive than duck hunting, but its not, just don,t have to bring the boat.

If I cannot drive to the location I use a cart similar to what Shane posted.  If there is snow on the ground I use my jumbo sled.  It pulls really easy in the snow/ice and stands 66in tall, 36in wide, with 12in side walls.  You can haul a good amount of gear:

Is that a decoy bag that is compartmentalized? If so, what's it purpose?

That's what I thought, figured I would ask anyway. Y'all reckon a sled would work in the "gumbo mud" here in Mississippi? We ain't got no snowno

Just picked up a sled this year and haven't got a chance to use it yet. But i usually carry the slotted decoy bag, backpack and shotgun w/ sling. Full setup in my avatar. Slotted decoy bag is a must!

Here's my rig:

A foxpro on an old Mosi-Nagant sling, and ammo in a fanny pack.

(Sometimes I leave the foxpro in the truck.)

Facemask and gloves in cargo pocket.

Gun in hand.

That's it!

And oh yeah, the dog.  Hopefully I'll never have to carry the dog.

Shanedog has the right idea, them deer carts from Cabelas along with some bunji cords will haul a fantastic amount of gear on dry land or snow!!! Slotted decoy bags work great also, but I put each flocked deek into an old pant leg that I have cut off, and then put it into the decoy bag slot. Try it..........you'll like it!!

Does flocking make that much difference that they are worth all the trouble?

Walking? The TCP is mechanized, we always drive into the kill box.  We also use flocked decoys, either factory flocked, or home flocked using one of Doug's kits from the CrowMart.

I got the sled Idea from big honk a long time ago. We rarely have snow around here but it slides easy on just about any kind of ground. The only time it gets tough is when you are on mud. Thats when you make sure you have one of them young studs with you!!!! They don;t seem to mind the drag... You guys remember them days don't you???

8Fisherman:

Texas Matt is correct in his description of the TCP's mechanized mode but that term should be interpreted broadly to include all forms of four-wheeled and, in some extreme cases, two-wheeled transport!

Holy crap did I just see a chain saw.....
I just carry a pocket knife.

Turn around and look over your shoulder in the mirror....
That's what I use to get my crap in
If I used a buggy I'd take 2x as much stuff

Ammo in a skeet/ trap 2 pocket belt holds 50 rds easy plus empty hulls
5 gallon bucket with loose reloads and fox pro topped with a spin seat
Back pack with more crap than I need
Decoy bag with 13 decoys.

Here is what I came up with.

Took an old set of wheels from a cooled and cut down a basket I had previously made and combined the two. Camoed up the tote box and will use it to sit on instead of a stool. The handle in the pic is a short paint pole. The one I will use is camo and is 16' when extended. It is attached with an old sand head. When I get to the blind location, all I will need to do is unscrew the handle and hang my decoys.

So what do yall think?

When you have 6 children ages 4 - 12 all by the same crazy woman, legos are always in play!biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

They are usually what wake me up in the mornings as I stumble around the house barefooted. I generally have to talk to Jesus afterwards and apologize for my potty mouth!

Tested it and all the new gear out today, all works well. Gonna get after 'em in the morning... back at the same old place in the pecan orchard. This will be the 4th weekend we have hunted it. We will see.
