The sound of the call sure carries well over water.
My partner and I were on a trip when some of these photos were taken. I fell flat on my back because of the ice, broke one rib on the right hand side of my rib cage. I tried to keep shooting but it just hurt to much to raise the gun to my shoulder. We shot 287 crows that afternoon of which Dick shot 201 and I shot 86, I was just to stiff to do any good. So I headed home the next morning.
The doctor said take it easy for two weeks, no shooting! Hell it takes me 15 minutes just to get out of bed I'm so stiff, and when I turn the wrong way I almost see stars from the damn pain.
Dick keeps telling me that I'm not a kid any more so I have to be more carefull around ice. I told him it could have been a lot worse, I could have broken an arm and if that had happened I would have been done for the season for sure.
The second photo is a shot of Dick in the blind.

I've had a broken rib on 3 different occasions & all you can do is take it easy. You'll mend up fine & be ready again after the 1st of the year Bob!!
BTW-- If you can stand to sleep with your ribs wrapped I've found it's easier to sleep & get out of bed in the AM. I never wrapped up for work tho. I only wrapped afterwards til the next AM. Just my experiences. Nothing more. Nothing less. Get well soon Bob!!
I have been sleeping in the Lazy Boy recliner the past four nights. This way I have the arms of the Lazy Boy to push off from where I don't have that in the queen sized bed!
My hunting partner said that he will carry all my ammo for me and do all the heavy lifting until I mend completely. I'd do the same for him as well, he is as good a partner as you will ever find.
The doctor said they don't wrap people anymore because they want them to breath normally.

Hey Bob The year before last I was out huntin dogs,I slipped on the ice and fell on my AR-15 lucky its tough!! Then last year I slipped and fell on my Wild Life tech caller I was carrring and bent the aluminium bell, good thing its tough also. Well I figured It was a matter of time before I got hurt,I went down to the gun shop and bought a real cool set of ice fishing creepers, they are rugged, they velcro on over my Sorels, and I have worn them for a full day and not had them get loose. They really make a difference when on snow and ice,and you get less tired. When I hit the blind I just pull the two straps and they are off.

Hi Bob They are called StableIcers, they have small screws in the bottom, that can be replaced if needed, but they dont stick out that far, infact I leave them on and drive from stand to stand and never take them off all day. If you have nice interior rugs well maybe you wont do that, but I have thick rubber mats in my truck. They cost $50.00 dollars but I bet I will not wear these out in ten years they are tough as nails!!
