I took my dad crow hunting this summer. He turned 72 a few days before this picture was taken. I'm glad he's still willing to get out there with me. He likes to use his old 16 gauge even though we have such a hard time finding ammo for it. In the photo, we are in a dry river bed. (very dry this summer in Maine)
The pole next to him is an old piece of conduit that the spinning wing crow decoy sits on. My Jack Russel named Weasel caught this wounded crow on the ground and finished it with a tackle and then a good shaking.
Not a great photo, but again, all I had with me at the time was my cell phone.

Mainehunt,

I have some old film footage of a Jack Russel Terrier retriving ducks in South Africa in 1995. This little guy would make water retrives on ducks that were bigger than he was; ducks the size of our mallards or pintails in North America. The black Labs did almost all the retrives, but when he held the labs back the little Jack Russel would do his thing!

Bob,

Funny you should mention that........

Here are a couple of photos. One is Weasel retrieving a Hooded Merganser. The other is Me with her both of the ducks she retrieved.

I like the black and white too, but I can't figure out why it came out like that.

Also, yeah, the shadow tells all, eh?

Thanks Bob. She's a great little dog. Still trying to decide if I should have her bred or not. She just turned 3 years old in October. I figure she needs to have pups or get her spade.
