Had a great weekend, excluding the tornado! I took my oldest daughter Friday morning for a little crow shooting. We downed 28. She managed to knock feathers out of one. We had a great time.
I took my second oldest daughter Friday afternoon and built a blind for Sat morning. we downed another 8. The pic below is the back of the blind.
Friday night while on the way to Dick's to pick up another case of Winchester Trap Loads before the rebate expired at midnight, we ran into a little F-1 nader. We pulled into the loading dock of a building and rode out the storm. Second oldest daughter was freaking out, (so was her daddy, but don't tell her). The F-250 with a bed full of heavy equipment was shaking! Oh the things we will do to feed our addictions.
Saturday morning the new blind worked very good. Killed 73. Pictured are 62, picked up two more on the way out and left 9 in the wood-line behind the blind. We referred to this blind as the Hilton. My farmer buddy had recently had a dozier in the field cleaning up fence rows. they pushed brush up around these too old snags and left a open space in the middle. all we really did was trim limbs and add them to the push piles. Three of us sat in here with enough room for 2 more. Very few crows ever knew where we were. The first pic is of the inside the blind. Second is of my 8 yr old and my crow hunting buddy Allen. Noah killed 5 this time. Last pic is of me and Noah.
Went this morning and killed another 19. Something was up as we only saw 40 - 50 birds. They just were not in the area.
