The bad thing with this type of blind is your in the open , and when you sit up, every crow will see you. Some guys use them, but I would recommend you build a tall blind. The object is to not be seen. You can keep the birds around even after you shoot if they don't pick up your location.

^x2. Plus some shots are pretty much impossible out of a layout blind.

has anybody tried a pop-up blind. . .you know the kind that looks like a little house.i wonder if they would have the same problem as the lay-out blinds,as far as the crows seeing something that stands out like a sore thumb & just doesnt fit in to the surroundings???

I have always had a tough time shooting from a sitting position. I found myself "poking" shots at the intended target instead of a nice smooth swing. Never hunted crows out of a layout though, only waterfowl. Much rather shoot from a standing position, especially with a target such as a crow which can stop, twist and turn on a dime.

i have always wanted a layout blind. id try it for all birds. prolly even deer & predators too. that would shock a coyote lol have him coming in to a mouse squeak & pop up with a shotgun. lol i know it sounds mean but its funny. lol

Once duck season is over I will be trying mine out for coyotes and crows. I figure that I can't do not worst than I did last year.
