this is for those of you who are currently using or have ever used the Foxpro Spitfire. will it play 2 sounds at once? and is the speaker on this thing gonna be loud enough to get the job done or will i still end up having to spend even more money on an external speaker?and ive read that some web sites will pre-program it for you with 24 calls, but would that only be Foxpro calls? or can they also put johnny's & bob's calls on there too? these d@mn things are h$ll on a blue collar budget. as cheap as electronics have become now days (dvd player for $20) i dont understand why these ''Glorified Boom-Boxes'' still cost soooooo much! the spitfire is all i can afford, but if it wouldnt be recommended by you guys then i would rather spend $12 dollars for a crow tape and stick it in a Getto-Blaster.that way if i dont shoot any crows i'll be able to through on some parachute pantz and break dance afterward!
I have never used the Spitfire but I recently purchased a Firestorm for $330. I would highly reccomend saving up the extra $130. It is super loud, can handle up to 200 .mp3 sounds and easily programmable. I would reccomnd though, also spending the $100 on a rechargable 12v battery. The things are hell on 8 AA's, especially running at high volumes. I went through three sets of 8 AA's in probably 10 trips out crow and/or predator hunting. The 12v battery will pay for itself in time.
Hey 12, The best I can tell the reason the can charge so much is because of the sounds. They seem to be removing the tapes and Cd's from the market a little at a time and the only way to get them then will be to purchase the caller that plays the chips or can interpret the foxpro sounds. I built a caller and there are not a lot of options for the do it yourself-er on sounds. I have been attempting to make some of my own sequences but it is tough to find quality sounds. After all, you can never have too many sounds.

I ma having pretty good success with mine and the foxpro sounds. It came with about 4 on it but Foxpro has several you can download for free on their website. I also purchased a few from STO WIldlife calls for $2 each online.
I have a fox pro fury. As far as the fox pro crow sounds get em they work get bobs too while your at it. Helps to call phded crows when you have 10-20 different sounds. As far as playing two sounds at once the sounds have to be formatted to play that way by fox pro. Fox pro is made in the USA by pennsylvania-ins. Pm polish hammer or watch em fall they have a spitfire they can tell you more bout em. By the way I love mine spend the extra $$. You won't be sorry The folks at all predator calls .com helped me decide what caller to go with as far as volume and such. They also custom program them with what sounds you want where as the big chain stores get the sounds loaded genericly so you may get sounds you will never use. The fury with the aa battery pack has given me good life. But I have yet to blair it for 6/8 hrs strait. I still Carry extra batts

Shotgun shooter i just happen to see your post after posting my caller for sale, i have the snow crow caller up for sale on this other link here you will not be dissatisfied this call rocks, i just happen to have some extra money and am upgrading to the newest model but they start at 899.00 so this could be the deal for you
I have the SPITFIRE and I love it. I have all the crow sounds from FOXPRO and they are great. I listed them below.
As far as volume goes, I think the Spitfire is plenty loud at least 95% of the time. The 5% that it isn't, is when it is very windy and the crows are up-wind of us. I would buy another Spitfire in a minute. My favorite sounds from the list below are YOUNG CROW and DYING CROW, they are the most productive for me.
thanks for all the good info.ive just about made up my mind on the spitfire-only reservation is still the volume question.talked to one of the allpredator rep.s and he kinda said the same thing.sometimes you might find yourself wanting more volume.hunting in EastTN i dont know if i'll ever need the kind of volume that some guys out west might.but i dont want it to let me down when i do need it.arent really any other choices though,in that price range.
