I went this morning for a short hunt. I killed 15 with 25 shell and was back home by 8 AM for my sons basket ball game. I took my second oldest daughter this afternoon for a hunt and picked up another 13 with 31 shots. Blue bird sky and birds were high.

This afternoon, I was getting a little frustrated not shooting as well I thought I should and tried a swing though lead on a bird I thought was on the border of being out of range. I must have centered him in the pattern because there was a big poof of feathers and he folded like a wet dish rag. I was amazed at how many feathers that load of nitro 27's 7 1/2 brought out of that bird. Just trying to change it up a little and see what happened.

As many of y'all have said, you don't need all the speed to kill crows. That 1235 fps load put a whoopin' on that bird that was in the 50 yard range. I just wish I could center more of them at that distance. I will be on the practice field this year and I will get better. I am so excited to have found a wing shooting sport that has endless opportunities to hunt and thank all of you for shareing your knowledge of the sport with beginners like me.

Thanks a lot guys.

Greg, NIce shooting, you must have had a great time with your kid out hunting.

You shoot much better than I do, I fired more than 2 boxes of shells. confuse

Im with you man, love hunting crows as good as ducks. I have found my wingshooting calling. I shoot great some days and leave mad others, lol. Its great practice but they fly so much slower than ducks and pigeons I think i shoot in front of them alot of the time unless there way out there.

Your whack'en em. Keep' em fallin.

I had one of those days today. I missed everything out there including the air. Knocked feathers off of 4 birds that never went down and one I absolutely smoked in the wing. It looked like I shot a pillow. He hit the ground started running and never stopped.

Oh well, It could've been worse, I could have been working.
