Hi David,

Fantastic...  That had to be a lot of fun.  I found those VMAX's to be much superior in terminal effect to the TNT HP's on jack rabbits, too.

I have been using my Volquartsen .17M2 on crows this year, when they hang up outside of shotgun range.  My .17HMR is back from Volquartsen now, where they updated it for me to their latest specs, and I plan on breaking it out soon.

Regards,

Bob, good to hear from you...I think Volquartsen is the last of the gun manufactures making a 17HMR auto...I sent mine in for " The Treatment" also...it has been running great...and crazy accurate....the 17HMR is an amazing little round for sure...Crowtec :>

Hi again David,

I've got a .22 Mag on order with them now.  It is a Superlite and in all black with the Hogue stock.  I plan to top it with a new Leupold VX-R with the Circle FireDot reticle for the varmint "night shift" as Randy Watson calls it on his excellent video and a recent edition of FoxPro's Fast and Furious.

I will have to pop a few crows with it, just because.  The fiber optic red dot reticle will offer a great aiming point on our black bandits.

Stay strong until crow season opens back up for you!  Those pigeons should keep you busy along with a few woodchucks.  I wish we had woodchucks down here in Texas, but we do get to spotlight varmints and that is not legal in some states.

Regards,

Hi Shane,

They are hard to beat...  In your capable hands, it would be dynamite.

Great shooting! I really enjoy sniping crows with rimfire. Volquartsen is in my opinion one of the finest, if not the finest semi-auto rimfire producer that I'm aware of. Beautiful craftsmanship. A fusion has been on my wish list for a very long time.
