Finally got around to adding the other speaker to my homebrew. It is SSSOOOOOO LOUD!!! I turned it on pointed at my kids and they grabbed their ears and just screamed as loud as they could but I couldn't hear their voices. The new speaker is still wet in the pic. It is mounted in a way that will allow it to swivel left or right and up and down. The older speaker is mounted to only move up and down. This will allow me to direct the sound away from the blind. With one speaker you did not want it pointed toward the blind, two would make it unbearable.
I was thinking about adding a wireless mic to the unit but I may just buy a smaller foxpro and use this unit as the external speaker. Both units would be self powered so the foxpro's batteries would last longer as the amp in the box could be turned up and the foxpro run at low volumes. The box is powered by two 18 volt DeWalt drill batteries and a Caunk dual channel amp. The advantage of the foxpro over the wireless mic is the remote and access to their digital sounds. Still undecided on that part.

Why don't you tell us what you have in it money wise? How much were the components? Looks good, you did a nice job.
Are the speakers fixed to the lid or do they come off? How much (feet wise) speaker wire do you use for each speaker providing they come off the lid?
Bob A.
Bob,
One speaker is fixed so as to only move up and down. The other swivels side to side and up and down. I have 75' for wire to run from my phone to the box.
As far as cost, I already had the 18 volt DeWalt drill and batteries with charger. I also already had the Blackberry that I use for the MP3.
Box $20.
Amp $42 with shipping
Speakers $22 each
Connectors, screws, wire, misc. $30 ish.
JS CD volume 1. $20 or so with shipping (can't remember.)
The speakers are 25 watt RMS 50 watt max and each is driven by a separate amp that could easily be run in stereo. I have it wired for mono sound. One battery will last longer that I want to hunt running one speaker. Two batteries should do the same with two speakers.
The 18 volt power allows the amp to run at maximum power and is ear splitting.
Here is a pic of the inside before I added the other speaker.

I looked on crowmart and didn't see them. Are the CD's you produced of your calls still available? I have the hand calling CD but would like to pick up some more sounds for my E-caller in the off season.

Thats ingenious!! Good work. I am in the process of building a homemade caller and you gave me alot of good ideas. Looks like you have it wired in parallel, what amp level do those batteries give you??
Bob has calls available on FoxPros website for download if you decide to go the FoxPro caller route. I am in the speaker and amp stage with my caller, going single speaker now till I figure out how I want to do the double. Was going to use my Ipod for the mp3 unit but I never thought about a Blackberry. I have one at home not in use.
