Got out this morning for the first time, roads are a mess. Lots of mud and flooding making travel almost impossible. Still a couple feet of snow along the bush lines.
Set up only to have heavy fog and a bit of drizzle move in off the lake. Not perfect crow shooting weather by far! Visability less than 200 yards but strangely it was much thicker aloft. Could hear mallards calling and gabbing right overhead but could not get a visual.
Crows that did come to the calling appeared out of nowhere from the gray mist and were tight but most refused to move. Managed nine crows and five magpies. Not a stellar shoot but did blow the dust out of the barrel Sorry forgot my camera... so no pics

We have had the same experience in foggy conditions. A few fly and make great targets, seemingly materializing right before your eyes. The masses seem to hold tight until the fog burns off.
I handled several nice M12's, 1897's and M42;s today at the Dallas Market Hall Gun Show with Splash 1. One was a 1926 vintage in twenty gauge with the short chamber. It was a peach!
