I am organizing the 2011 PA State Crow Shoot this year, and I wanted to get the word out for anyone that would like to participate. The check-in for the shoot is at Bay City Gun Club in Waterford, PA (Erie County). If you live in the area and get a chance to participate it is definitely a good time for all.
Here are some of the details for the shoot: Date: July 10, 2011 Registration: Pre-registration until July 9th OR register at Bay City Gun Club between 3:30 and 5 am on July 10th. Cost: $35.00 per team OR $17.50 per single shooter Class Categories: Novice, Intermediate, Super Expert, Junior/Senior and Single (new teams will be classified as Novice) Rules:- Check-in time is no later than 12:00 pm (Noon). NO EXCEPTIONS!! - Ties will be resolved by the teams’ check-in time. – 2011-2012 PA hunting license is required to shoot legally. – Vehicles used in the shoot may contain a MAXIMUM of three people two shooters and one driver. (single shooter vehicles may contain only two people) – ALL birds must be killed the day of the shoot or participants will be disqualified!!! – All Pennsylvania Game Commission laws apply. – Keep it clean!! Anyone caught cheating will be excluded from this tournament permanently. This tournament has been held for a number of years. Participants compete under the “honor system”. Unethical behavior hurts everyone. (this is possible with the help of several generous sponsors)
Picnic lunch and awards ceremony following check-in time.

I have been looking forward to this shoot every year for the past 10 years, and a couple years ago when they needed some others to take it over a few of us decided to give it a shot. Otherwise it would have been an over 20 year old tradition that would have been gone. We have been trying to improve the shoot every year, and I think this years shoot is gonna be great.
Anybody is welcome to participate, and all you need is hunt in PA and follow the rules. Let me know if anyone needs more information.
Well we ended up with 44 shooters that signed up this year. The total number of birds for the day was 271, and the top two man team came in with 35. Not bad for a half day competition.
Special thanks to Doug @ CrowMart for helping us out with some of the prizes. They were a big hit.
