I deciced to knock the dust off my MAXUS today. So my road dog and I headed to our pigeon hole with some gun club loads and some loose chokes. The birds have been feeding daily unmolested for 4 months. Needless to say they got molested The boy didn't shoot as well as he would have liked. We had a 30 mph sustained wind and gust up to 40. Once he figured out the spray of that power piston wad he connected a few times. I had 1 triple, 3 doubles, and a two with one on a cross over that was beautiful. I did not pick up all the birds. I am sure we downed at least 60 or 70. Nothing like keepin the o'l shootin eye greased up.... And the dust knocked off MAXUS I used my 6 decoys from knutsons that Shanedog made me buy LOL and a mojo dove. Them pigeons LOVE that mojo dove!!!!!!
I shoot crows from mid March to early October when the exodus occures. Never pass up an abandoned farm yard or rail bridge for pigeons or a couple magpies. Hunt some waterfowl mid to late October until things freeze by the first week of November. Spring and summer I shoot a round or two of 16 yard trap each week.
