Well guys my son is a paratrooper I was given the honor of pinning his wings on at his graduation ceremony. It was without a doubt the most awesome thing I have done in my life to this date. The ceremony was moving. Dustin was first man out of the bird in his stick on his last 2 combat jumps. (Voluntarily) of course. I have a feeling the Army is getting a great warrior. He took me thru the Infantry museum at Fort Benning. It hadn't been built when the old man was there. The heat was still the same and the smell was too It brought back a lot of memories. If you are a veteran or if you are a true American, and if you are near Columbus Georgia dont cheat yourself out of the opportunity of visiting this museum. It is without a doubt the most breathtaking thing you will ever do.
I cant wait to show my wife this post I argued with her for 2 hours about wearing them dang shorts Its bad enough to be over 50 But to have your wife dress you like that. She would not let me wear jean shorts to the ceremony it was 102 degrees. When we got there people were fallin out all over the place cause of the heat. I love this pup you have made my night now I have proof positive that I was right after 25 years of being wrong.....LOL.....
Now what everyone is missing is that fact of Chip's son's thoughts in this pic.
It goes something like this. --- Damn dad, I bust my a$$ to become a Paratrooper, I get my wings and you wear those shorts. And to top it off I have to get my picture taken in front of the museum. I so wish this camo pattern was working right now. I knew my DI told me there would be times to were I had to suck it up, but I don't think he was talking about this. Well atleast he's wearing an Under Armor shirt, na . Dad, what were you thinking.
Dang !
Chip all I can say is that I wish it was me. Congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jon, when are you finally getting cut ? You have till Sept 1 to heal , no excuses. Goose on the 1st , dove on the 3rd. No exceptions.
Pup I made my wife read your post.................. I said "See what I meant about those dam shorts" she said "Those guys don't have the guts to admit, every woman dresses her husband" It was the first time she had Ever read a post on the CB site. Now this woman that I have been married to for 23 years of marital bliss is no dummy. She has a Masters and is a Speech pathologist. I just thank the lord she don't crow hunt. I sent the pics to some of the guy's at work. The first thing they said was WHERE DID YOU GET THEM SHORTS!!!!! I'm just glad she listens to me come election time and has no idea how to load a gun

Thanx Hizz,,,,,, Dustin is currently in the ROTC program in college. He now proudly carries his Airborne coin from the 507th parachute Infantry. I can tell that he has an itch for Ranger school,,,,,,,,,,He is 5' 9 inches tall and weighs about 155. Solid muscle and a D-1 college wrestler. PERFECT ranger build and ranger material. His major in ROTC sais that he will be one of the few that will be able to write his own ticket with the GPA he has. 3.896 on a 4.0 scale. He is in law. We shall see only time will tell. I am not trying to influence him in any way His next adventure is 30 days at Washington state, he will complete LDAC, which is some kind of officer training. Then he wants to try to go to Air Assault school at Fort campbell home of the 101rst (Where the old man was) and or path finder school. All I told him is he HAS to earn the respect of his men. As an E-5 I bailed a bunch of dumb assed butter bars out of trouble in the field. He is a natural born leader, very smart and likable and headed in the right direction. There is no doubt that when he gets deployed he will make a difference in some part of the world. He has been taught to love his country and respect our colors since he was old enough to understand the english language.. I appreciate everyones support and incouragement very much and so does he!!!!!
