white feather on crow

A few weeks ago,I shot a crowthat had a single white feather. How common is that? I was thinking of saving it, but I'll just say it was too good a of shot to save the bird.

Anyone else see one like that? I have talked to a few others and they had never seen it, so I thought it was interesting. Crow hunting is certainly becoming an addiction!

Heres the video of the hunt, not sure if I posted it on the other on or not.

Justin,

You shot a piebald crow.

Here are a few photos of other piebald crows.

Here is the one I shot here in central Maine. Both wings had several white feathers on each.

Hi Kev,

Most of your piebald crows look just like the one in your photo. Did you have him mounted?

I didn't. Wished I had though. The problem is I have a couple of ducks in my freezer now waiting for the taxidermist. (Waiting because my money is being saved for my son's college next year)

In the excitement of the hunt, I left that crow in the woods. I'm heading out there tomorrow to bowhunt deer. Hopefully some of those feathers will be laying there on the ground.
