The TCP continues to push the technology envelope in our never ending effort to boost our TBC.
We wanted to share a couple of developments that are working for us. First, we are now using a custom built portable turntable to "spray" sound the full 360 degrees as well as creating a motion component to our ecalling sound. The good folks at USA Turntable built this to our specifications to handle our FoxPro Snow Crow Pro 2 Plus. It is very rugged, will handle up to 150 pounds, and has a rheostat to control the speed of rotation up to 4 RPM. We have been putting a crow decoy on top of it for better decoying and it is hidden in this "camo bucket", cut from a 5 gallon barrel to keep the electronic's dry. http://www.usaturntable.com/(Minnesota John - You need one of these!)
In addition, Texas Matt found a new loading from Federal that works in our Metro barrels. This load offers an improvement in lethality and functions perfectly in our Browning Maxus's. Doubles are much easier with these autoloaders, than our pumps. The load is the Federal Top Gun - TGM 123 - 1 and 1/8 ounces of 7.5's at 900FPS. http://www.federalpremium.com/products/print/details/shotshell.aspx?id=728

Then you should consider getting a Texas-size shotgun!
Honestly, Bob's new invention is really making an impact in the field. I've listened to those calls for hours before in a static mode but with the turntable, calls are echoing off different trees and there is a 'natural' rising and falling of volume. Sounds more life-like and birds can come from any point on the compass.
It is really pulling them in for us. I have been getting "flooded" from all directions on some of my recent solo jaunts.
Hi M-John,
It is their Model IG-2 from the Dynapac Rotating Company. I think USA Turntables added the battery power (an 8 amp 12 volt rechargeable with charger) and rheostat. Just ask for Dale (he will likely answer the phone) and tell him you want the one he tweaked for that crazy crow hunter - Gadget Bob in Texas.
Hi Shane,
"Two Turntables and a Microphone" is where we in the TCP want to get - Where it's at! (Beck musical reference for those of you with inquiring minds) Seriously some reduntancy is always a good thing in hunting.
That's a pretty nice setup, interested to see the results,or was the results in the pic using the topgun? I like the topgun loads, wish I could find a nice case price like the last one @ 45.00

Those 8 in the photo were part of 53 total bagged solo on last Monday with the Maxus, a Metro barrel extension and that load. Posting a lot of shoot photo's on this site draws more photo analysis than our CIA could deliver on their best day. Our limited shooting venues don't need any more pressure.
That was a great price on the Federal "Metro-Field Load". We are getting them for $5.66 a box from Cheaper Than Dirt plus tax and shipping. Works out to about $7.50 a box.
We are at 363 crows month to date, and on pace to shatter our TCP record month of 429 recorded in 2008. Credit the new turntable as well as the "Metro Maxus" technology in Texas Matt and my hands. Old Lone Star is still pumping his BPS, but he is at least thinking about a Maxus upgrade. He picked up Matt's Metro Maxus during a 75 bird shoot on Friday morning for a couple of telling shots and really liked it.
