I also have the 24. I am going on my 3rd season with it. I had a problem with my remote. I called fox pro and they had me ship it to them. They fixed the problem and shipped it back. About a 4 day turn around. I love mine What makes this unit soo likeable is the superior service. The boys at fox pro even replaced a part that didn't really need replacing on my speaker. They are an amazing company and make an excellent product. They Dam sure stand behind it too, The old school American way I bought mine because of the comments on this site!!! These boys won't steer you wrong. We may not agree 100% of the time but they will tell you the truth all the time,,,,,,,,,
Electronic game calls are like all other electronic gadgets. FRAGILE !
Electronic gadgetry is easy to break, damage, or destroy. These "miracle" boxes of plastic, are made to last a few years, then they are replaced by new technology, and more plastic boxes. Mostly, they are designed to be "self obsoleting". Take for example your microwve oven, or blender, or computer. If it breaks, or when it breaks, sometimes it is too expensive to repair it. You end up throwing it away, and getting another plastic box.
I had an extension speaker connection problem with my Foxpro FX3, and sent it to Foxpro, two or three times for the same problem. Still have the same problem today. I suggested to someone at Foxpro to use a more durable 1/4" male plug, instead of the toyish 1/8" male connect, but to no avail. I hope Foxpro will improve the design of this area of their call on their next new models.
Another gripe that I have about electronc game calls, is their amplifiers do not produce a low enough frequence response. Some game calls will not produce a response below 300 hertz. Since I use my call for crow hunting, I would like to have a call that will produce a response down to 100 hertz, to more faithfully reproduce the low tones of Corvus Brachyrhynchous. The common crow.
I would also like to see a game call with a built-in 8" speaker, as moulded-in with part of the body of the call. I use a 8" extension speaker with my FX3, and the game sound from this speaker, is much more faithful than the puny factory speaker. It would be nice if I did'nt have to lug the extra 8" speaker with me when I crow hunt. By the way, watt rating of a speaker has nothing to do with the watt-power of the game call, or your home stereo. Just thought I would throw that in since speaker wattage is often mentioned in this type discussion.
I certainly agree that Foxpro does have an excellent repair and warranty service. And, after-the-sale service is something that is sorely missing in many companies today........Kencrow
Ken, If by 8" speaker you mean the SP-55 external speaker system that FP offers then they do already make that call. Look at the Prarie Vlaster call it has the SP-55 speaker set right into the case. This is a 4 speaker unit very large though. looks like a Fury on stroids..
