Went out this past Sunday to a new location where I had thought I located a flyway. We got there an hour before sunrise, as we had never been there before. Found out there was little to no natural vegetation to work into a blind and the crows seemed very educated. The wind was also blowing 10-15mph with fairly regular 25mph gusts.
To make a long story short, all we got was one crow and a sharp stick in the eye...which made shooting difficult since it was my right eye.
I'm sure a major problem was the lack of blind material, but would wind like that cause crows to be harder to call in? We only had a few come in, and the only one that came within range was killed. What direction would have been the best to face with the wind coming from the north west? The crows we saw were coming from the north and heading south.
