What you have here is a classic statement from a liberal. So much of that they "know", is simply is not true. Crows are a "boon" to farmers like a screen door is to a submarine.
If you live in an area like this why have it in the first place? It does nothing but draw negative attention to you and your hunting club. This is just my opinion.

I can't remember ANY farmer i have asked permission from that actually liked crows! Many want me to exterminate every one i see. Some people just don't understand the importance of seasons and if left unchecked how much harm overpopultaing can cause. There is a city near where i hun that has spend 25k plus to try to run the crow out of the city because of all the problems they cause. Oh by the way Rook-ie, that is a cool pic of a crow!

He can think how he wants, but I'm not going to risk killing seagulls or turkeys out of season. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Ya, I get that as well! Between the Seagulls and the turkey buzzards sometimes it get's hard to concentrate on the crow when the Buzzard is right beside it. The buzzards are off limits as well...had to call the DNR to be sure! LOL
Rook, i'm near Albany & every year the city spends god knows how much to push them out of their night roost in the city. They push them out of Albany & they go to Troy, then Troy rousts them & they come back to Albany. Happens every year, but I can only imagine the hassle if someone tried to organize a hunt.

One of my farmers threatened to "fire" me if I didn't shoot ever deer and yote I saw. I got a big kick out of that. I am with you though, I would have a hard time pulling the trigger.

Now Rochester NY has spent the last week trying to scare crows out of downtown. I hear it is coming to an abrupt end because some people protested and started a facebook page about it.

I try to explain to non hunters the benefits of pest control which we all know. That the service I do for farmers and others is done at my own expense and time. I have many $$ invested and it's only a cost to me, NOT THEM. If we don't do it the Grubment will do it by taxing everyone and even nonhunters understand that it would cost trillions and the job would never get done. Farmer's crops and wild life will take a beating. And that would create higher food prices and you'd be stuck with the xtra TAX. Most don't like it, but most agree it's better we do it than the taxman.
I got tired of explaining why shooting crows and coyotes is a good thing.
Now when some numbskull gives me a hard time - and it's not always somebody's liberal wife, sometimes it's one of my friends - I usually shrug it off, and let them think what they will.
Course, now that I know that crows are a boon to farmers, I might have to change my song.
I bet you couldn't find but a hand full of people who actually like the noisy Bastards let alone farmers that think they are a good thing.

I just don't like them,I love them.I love to smoke them in a 60 mph stoop,and watch then hit the dirt like a lawn dart.I can't count the number of ways I love to see them wad up.Take that ya liberal tree hugging bastages.
Today's paper... the opposition is holding Crow Appreciation Day tomorrow as well. Darn, I wish I could attend the lecture by Dr. McGowan -- I love learning more about crows, but I'll be busy.
