Well i think my death cry with hawk tape is on the out. It wont rewind or fast forward any more, even though all the other tapes ive tryed have worked flawlessly. Just wondering what johnny stewart tape works the best. The tape that i have at the moment has worked pretty well. Just wondering if i should get the same one or get a different one. And i only flyway hunt, if that makes a difference.

I think overall Johnny Stewart sounds are superior to others for crow hunting. I have had my best success with; Come Here, Owl and Crow Fight, Death Cry of a Crow and Single Excited Crow. New tapes are getting harder to find, I think there are some here in Crow Mart. Ebay is place to check frequently although they often sell for more than the original retail price due to their scarcity. Best to make copies of them if you can and wear out the copies in the field.

Hi Pete,

I agree with you.  I love our FoxPro callers but the Johnny Stewart "sounds" are the best available to us for crow.  We used "Come Here Crow", "Owl and Crow Fight" and "Death Cry of a Crow" on our mission Sunday.

Our favorite "Come Here Crow" sound file was professionally edited by Minnesote John to remove the "Death Cry" segment.  It works great for lower intensity calling on our feeding sets.

Regards,

GB, my Come Here Crow tape was unprofessionally edited by myself . Another member here sent my a copy of that on CD and I eliminated the death cry segment at the beginning and recorded it to tape so there is very little pause when a 612 changes sides of the tape.

I did that (getting the owl hoots out of "The Crow & Owl Fight" over 35 years ago.

Pete; just this week I had the opportunity to listen to the crow sounds on a Foxpro FX3, far better & clearer than my Johnny stewart preymaster. Granted the foxpro cost 4 times what my preymaster did, don't think I'd change, but I was impressed. Jerry
