Just picked up a real nice Benelli M1 Super 90. It's got a real short barrell on it. Anybody have one and use it specifically for crows? Anything to watch out for or modify?
Thanks,
Magoo

How short are you talking? IMO a 26 inch barrel would be perfect for most crow dispatching situations especially in tight quarters. I shoot 28's and 30's.

I shoot one. I think mine is around 26". Would have to measure to be sure. I can kill them with it as far as a shotgun is good for. I added weight to the stock and the forearm so mine weighs about 9.5 lbs now. It is the only gun I shoot. I shoot sporting clays and crows with it. It is a great gun but needs to be cleaned every couple of cases of shells. This use to not be a problem but after years of use and tens of thousands of rounds it doesn't like to be dirty. They make an after market spring kit the is supposed to take care of the problem but I haven't added it yet. Over the last 12 mos, I have run 15000 plus rounds through mine with no problems a little cleaning wouldn't fix.
As far as cleaning goes, it is very fast to clean. It might take 10 min to break down, clean, and reassemble.

Added a pic in my first post. I will measure the barrell, but it looks like the one in the pic. Thanks for the good info! Think I'll add that Wolf spring asap and start chucking rounds through it.
As SD pointed out it is not a good configuration for wingshooting. The pictured gun is of tactical design, intended use is for close quarter combat, home defense. The sights and short barrel will hinder your wingshooting. Look for an additional barrel, vent rib 26 to 30" depending on your preference with choke tubes, and remove the rear sight.
