Hi boys,

On Friday, Texas Matt and I made a first time visit to a new property he obtained that requested our free crow control services.  We dropped 32 crows on this morning and at 1:30 in the afternoon, just before leaving we tried our fourth and final varmint calling stand of the day.  The first 3 were failures but this stand produced our first ever daylight raccoon double.

Raccoons at Cross

Persistence was the key!

Regards,

Good job on the trash can carnivores Gadget Bob! They look like two peas in a pod.

Hi Ted,

Texas Matt's was almost twice as big as my raccoon, but I only took one shot.  Of course mine had bolted into the open and I dropped it with a head shot at 7 paces!  Matt's stayed in heavy cover and he had to put a burst into it.  We were both limited to our Maxus "Metroguns" because of this landowners "shotgun only" rule.  I wish I could have dispatched mine with my S&W 627 and a 110 grain XTP.  That would have been extra professional!

Take care,

Hi Bob,

As Lone Star Phil would say, these guys have wants and warrants issued against them in various raccoon post offices all over the southwest!

Regards,

Hi Bob,

We have been out several times, but only seeing local birds so far.  Not to worry, we will keep trying!
