I have been viewing this site for such a long time so I decided to join and contribute what I can. I have learned so much from the website and enjoy reading the tips people share.
Thanks Steve
I'm fairly new on here myself, there is definatly a ton of useful information on the forum. If there is something you don't see on here all you have to do isask and you should have several responses on the subject. This enjoy reading all of the post every one sends in. Wecome Aboard, <> Pat

Ted we have so many crows all year long. We can hunt them all year here so I guess we are lucky compared to others with seasons. Very few people around here hunt crows. They look at you like you have two heads when you tell them you are hunting crows. We start with coyote and call for a bit and if none show up in our stand we switch over to crows and in a minute they start coming.
Welcome Steve. Thats actually how I got started crow hunting. While I was coyote hunting and using a rabbit distress call, crows would fly in to investigate and since I was terrible at coyote hunting and never saw anything, I figured I should shoot what was responding to my calls...
Steve welcome!!!! Here is my first bit of advice Dont tell them you are hunting crows,,, It will haunt you eventually. After you have made the mistakes and learn to respect this bird and spend the rest of your life trying to out smart him and hunt him right you will start to get handy at it. Then they will come,,, one little group after another,,, educating your birds making it a lot tougher for you Don't broadcast what you are doing there is always something else in season! Tell them you are hunting doves or squrills or whatever Trust me you will see
Well chip I wish you told me that 30+ years ago when I first started hunting crows. I will not broadcast that I am hunting them from now on.
Thanks...Steve
Steve, I get the same looks from landowners when I ask to shoot crows as nobody hunts them here as well. Sometimes a landowner will come by to investigate my shooting. When I inform him/her that I'm simply "shooting crows" the perplexed look they give me is a classic. Almost like they're not sure if it's a good thing or bad!
Ted
